Harvard Book Store is thrilled to announce that on Friday, November 21st Richard Dawkins will be reading with his wife Lalla Ward from his new book, A Devil's Chaplain: Reflections on Hope, Lies, Science, and Love. Best-selling author Richard Dawkins offers another dazzling gift to his readers in this wonderful collection of essays. Eloquently and avidly, Dawkins dissects religion, mysticism, and even today's educational methods. He writes movingly of friends, such as Douglas Adams, and his love for Africa, his boyhood home.

Author Biography:

Richard Dawkins, one of the most influential scientists of our time, holds a chair at Oxford University. His highly acclaimed books include Unweaving the Rainbow, The Blind Watchmaker, and The Selfish Gene. The New York Times has called him "one of the most incisive science writers alive," and the Wall Street Journal referred to Unweaving the Rainbow as "awe-inspiring literary craftsmanship."

Lalla Ward is an actress and artist. Best known as Romana on the BBC program Dr. Who, she also played Ophelia to Derek Jacobi's Hamlet in the BBC TV Production, and also had film roles acting alongside Charlton Heston, Robert Mitchum, Rex Harrison, Peter, O'Toole and Oliver Reed. In addition to her own books on embroidery and knitting patterns, she has illustrated books by the comedian Lance Percival, the veterinarian Bruce Fogel, and her husband Richard Dawkins.
