- , by Neil Levine. Not cheap, but worth every single dime -- a tremendous work of scholarship and a book which also reads easily. If you only buy one book on Wright, make it this one.
- , by Peter Hoeg. These eight tales are brilliantly linked by the theme of love and the night of March 19, 1929. Written before , these stories are Peter Hoeg at his best! Worth a try.
- , by Susannah Clapp. This is not a definitive biography. It is a heartfelt remembrance of this fascinating traveler, writer, and conneisseur, who lived to share the world's treasures and died tragically of AIDS in 1989. A great read.
- , by Lewis Lapham. I've never seen such a bad jacket blurb for such a good book. This is a collection of cultural and political essays from the editor of Harper's. They will make you laugh, get you mad, and make you want to vote in a third party. These comments on the current state of America would be hysterical satire if they weren't so true -- read it!
- , by Ada Louise Huxtable. The author does battle with the strip malls and McDonalds of America. I can't look at Main Street, USA, the same way again (let alone Las Vegas)!
