Bradley Dean

Henry David Thoreau's Wild Fruits

Tuesday, November 2

The final harvest of a great writer's last years, Wild Fruits presents Thoreau's sacramental vision of nature - a vision compelling in part because it grew out of an approach to the natural world at one scientific and mystical. The difficulties of Thoreau's handwriting, method of composition, notations, and pagination have kept his final observations and meditations from publication until now; thanks to the assiduous efforts of Thoreau specialist Bradley Dean, this great work can finally be brought to light.

Bradley Dean lives and works at the Thoreau Institute in Lincoln, Massachusetts (less than half a mile from Walden Pond), where he is director of the Media Center. He has published widely on Thoreau and has taught at several major universities.
