HARVARD BOOK STORE CELEBRATES
LOCAL CHEFS & LOCAL FOODS

Harvard Book Store, Harvard Square’s landmark independent bookseller, is delighted to let you know about our “Local Chefs, Local Foods” promotion, celebrating the local ingredients that local chefs use in their favorite summertime recipes. This special promotion runs from August 9th through August 23rd at Harvard Book Store.

Jody Adams of Rialto; Gordon Hamersley of Hamersley’s Bistro; Deborah Hughes of Up Stairs on the Square; Susan Regis, formerly of Biba and Up Stairs on the Square; Ana Sortun of Oleana; Ming Tsai of Blue Ginger; and Jasper White of The Summer Shack have all contributed recipes showcasing New England’s luscious August produce. Pick up recipe cards at Harvard Book Store. You’ll also find tempting summer dishes in these chefs’ cookbooks, including In the Hands of a Chef: Cooking with Jody Adams of Rialto Restaurant, Gordon Hamersley's Bistro Cooking at Home: More Than 150 Classic and Contemporary Dishes, Ana Sortun’s Spice: Flavors of the Eastern Mediterranean, Ming Tsai’s Simply Ming: Easy Techniques for East-Meets-West Meals, and Jasper White’s Lobster at Home. Find information about this new market—running Tuesdays,1 pm to 6 pm.—as well as pamphlets about the Food Literacy Project, an organization cultivating an understanding of food from the ground up. We’ll give out free copies of Edible Boston, a beautifully-produced new quarterly magazine that celebrates the diverse food and delicious restaurant culture of the Greater Boston Area. The summer issue contains seasonal recipes, grower profiles, restaurant and chef profiles, local food and product news, and more!

You can find these recipes, informational materials, and these books and many others on our main display located just inside the entrance at Harvard Book Store.
